Soulja Boy Arrested In L.A. After Police Find A Gun During A Traffic Stop

Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of a weapons charge following a traffic stop in Melrose, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

DeAndre Cortez Way, best known as his stage name Soulja Boy, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by police around 2:30 a.m. LAPD did not say what the traffic stop was for.

During the stop, police said a firearm was seen in the car.  Following an investigation, the rapper was arrested and booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

It’s unclear if Way has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
